Hillel Yeshiva in your Will
Thank you for considering Hillel Yeshiva as a beneficiary of your will or trust. Bequests are an important source of support. They provide funds for programs, improved facilities, operations, scholarships, and extracurricular activities, among many other needs. Since bequests are revocable and do not affect financial security, they are often the single largest gift one can make.
Benefits of Bequests:
- The ability to designate a specific dollar amount or percentage of the net proceeds of the estate
- The ability to name Hillel Yeshiva as a secondary beneficiary, leaving the bulk of your assets to your family
- Reducing or avoiding federal estate taxation
There are a number of ways to make a bequest to Hillel. They are described below along with suggested wording for a gift. Please consult your attorney to decide which best suits your individual circumstances.
- GENERAL BEQUEST: A general bequest is one of the most popular ways to make a charitable gift by will. You simply designate a specified dollar amount or property to Hillel.
I give, devise and bequeath to Hillel Yeshiva, a non-profit corporation chartered under the laws of the State of New Jersey and located in Ocean, NJ, the sum of $________ (or other appropriately described property) for the general purposes of Hillel Yeshiva (or for a specific program or fund decided upon in consultation with the school).
- RESIDUARY BEQUEST: A residuary bequest is used to give all or a portion of your estate to Hillel after all debts, taxes, expenses and all other bequests to family and friends have been paid.
I give, devise and bequeath to Hillel Yeshiva, a non-profit corporation chartered under the laws of the State of New Jersey and located in Ocean, NJ, the remainder of my property, real and personal, for the general purposes of Hillel Yeshiva (or a specific program or fund decided upon in consultation with the school).
- PERCENTAGE BEQUEST: This is used in cases where there is more than one charity or person you would like to share in your “leftover” estate.
I give, devise and bequeath _______% to Hillel Yeshiva, a non-profit corporation chartered under the laws of the State of New Jersey and located in Ocean, NJ, for the general purposes of the Yeshiva (or for a specific program or fund decided upon in consultation with the school).
-
CONTINGENT BEQUEST: If one of your named beneficiaries dies before you do or disclaims the property, you can designate Hillel as the alternate beneficiary.
If any of the above named beneficiaries should predecease me, I give, devise and bequeath the property which said beneficiary would have received if the beneficiary had survived me, to Hillel Yeshiva, a non-profit corporation chartered under the laws of the State of New Jersey and located in Ocean, NJ, for the general purposes of the Yeshiva (or for a specific program or fund decided upon in consultation with the school) For more information about this and other methods of giving to Hillel Yeshiva, please call the Marketing/Fundraising office at 732-493-9300 x350.
