$2,300 | Gifts of securities can be made in three ways. The first is our preferred method:
- You may electronically transfer the securities via DTC to a brokerage account in the school’s name. Please have your broker call Elizabeth Beckerman, Marketing Coordinator, at (732) 493-9300 for instructions on how to effectuate the transfer
- You may hand deliver the securities to Hillel Yeshiva.
- You may send unendorsed stock certificate(s) directly to the school, preferably by registered mail, accompanied by a transmittal letter indicating your name(s) and address(es) as it/they appear on the certificate(s). A stock power should be sent under separate cover with a copy of the transmittal letter. All materials should be addressed to: Hillel Yeshiva Development Office, PO Box 2288, Ocean, NJ 07712
Securities are credited at the mean value between the high and low trades on the date they 1) were hand-delivered or mailed (date of postmark) in negotiable form to Hillel or its agent; or 2) were placed in an account in Hillel’s name. Closely held stock with no ready market value is credited at the appraised value. Neither gains nor losses realized by the school’s sale of the securities after their receipt will affect the credited gift value. Any brokerage fee incurred will be paid by Hillel, and changes in value prior to liquidation will be considered operating expenses or income of the school.
